Booby Food stands as an innovative company based locally in Calgary Alberta,  with a profound dedication to empowering mothers and advancing maternal well-being, particularly those facing challenges in breastfeeding. Started by a mom who struggled with breastfeeding herself, Booby Food offers a unique service wherein they freeze-dry a mother's own breast milk and transform it into a highly nutritious powder formula. This powdered breast milk not only retains essential nutrients but also addresses several common issues such as reducing waste, extending shelf life, simplifying freezer storage, and providing unparalleled convenience for feeding, especially during travel.
Challenge
While Booby Food has a unique service offering they are not the only company offering to freeze-dry your breast milk. With their exponential growth and success over the past few years, they were ready to upgrade their website to be able to better serve moms, and grow their online brand. Up to this point, the website and the majority of the marketing had been created and handled by the owner who was ready to offer a more professional look and customer experience. The goal for the new website was to elevate the design to a modern and fun look and feel that would appeal to moms but also streamline the customer experience to make it as simple as possible. This involved overhauling the current checkout process, payment options, and shipping integration.
Solution
We looked at the other competitors in this space to see how they were serving their customers, and which platforms and technologies they used to enable their services. Through this process, we identified the best systems and most streamlined customer experiences to create our own. We changed the website platform to Shopify to assist with a more efficient checkout system and eliminate other technology integrations that the previous website used. We conducted a Storybrand session to get a deep insight into the moms who would be using this service and the things that were most important to them. Using these insights we were able to create new content, organize the existing content better, and restructure the website to make information easy to access. Furthermore, we honoured the existing logo and branding and created a new website design that was more modern, professional, and fun.
